Ferrous Processing and Trading Co. (FPT) includes multiple yards which have been operating for more than one hundred years. The company is comprised of several scrap entrepreneurships that date back to the early 1900’s in both Canada and the United States.

FPT Pontiac has been in operation since 1904. It started life as Sam Allen & Sons and was later renamed to TBS Recycling. Zalev Brothers was initially established in Sarnia, Ontario in 1914 and later moved downstream to its current home in Windsor, Ontario.

Through the consolidation of entrepreneurships FPT has grown significantly. Originally, the company was only operating in Michigan but expanded their operations to Ohio, Tennessee and Florida. FPT is an exporter of raw material to several countries and continues to find new paths and methods for recycling metals.

It’s important to note that FPT has several alliances including: Parts Galore, MPS Group and Premier Steel. These strategic alliances involve processes such as: recycling vehicles, managing a comprehensive set of materials and removing hazardous and non-hazardous industrial wastes. Materials include both primary and secondary flat rolled steel and master full width and narrow slits coils.

FPT takes great pride in having developed several scrap processes that are widely used throughout the industry today including: the scrap baling steel baler, heavy duty shredding and automated metal alloy separation (mass shredding, sizing and dry media separation).
